Dealings

This is a one man show, funded out of my own wallet. My goal is to release loud music that I find a bit of an affection for. Loud. Fuzzy. Grungy. Rotten. Think what Amphetamine/Reptile was in the 90’s although I want to aim for a bit more modern groups with something that sounds a bit different from the usual grind.

I like tinny, rotten guitars. I seem to have a like for minor chords in almost all time signatures. I like bands that tour and put some effort into hawking their wares. What do I do? I do a lot of the bullshit so you don’t have to. Typically I fund CD/Vinyl pressing, getting digital distribution amongst various sites. You record at your own peril and cost with full control over production and artwork. I may fork out for mastering if I feel the need. In all, it costs me about $2000 to put out an album for raw product. If we’re doing CDs, you get 100 off the top, then all sales after recovering my expenses are split 50/50.

Because I’m relatively new to the game, it will take some time to get some decent distribution going. The mainstay for your sales should come from your shows and digital sales. Yeah, it may not be a whole lot but when you need to tour and build up some fan base, it’s a helluva lot more than you will have time for.

I’m not rich nor am I looking to get rich from your music. I just want to lend a hand where I can - and since I can do more with my money than my drumming skills, it seems to be an equitable trade for some….
